Simple Pleasures (The Beauty of San Francisco)
Visited Jason in SF this weekend. He lives in Cow Hollow (literally across the street from Marina).
Friday: Day 1 of period so was just dead and blah. Jason went to Berkeley to visit Anish and go to Carolyn's bday party. I stayed home and started contacting people about housing tours. Went to bed around 2am.
Saturday: Spent most of the day prepping for party. Got burgers at Roam -- honestly quite mid compared to Eureka, but serviceable and tasted healthy. Party was great -- lots of Jason's coworkers. One of his coworkers was mad hot and I got rly rly gay. Took 5 shots towards the end of the party which was a bad idea. Somehow did my skincare routine and got to bed. Didn't throw up. Roman (Jason's housemate) is such a sweetheart and great guy. He made us pasta carbonara for dinner and gave me an ibuprofen before I went to bed.
Sunday: Bit of a hangover. Went to Shaylan's place to watch the Blue Angels. I thought it was a bro thing because everyone seemed a little surprised that I was there, but it turns out that he actually invited girls but they couldn't make it. We had burgers made on the BBQ. A very bro thing. Lol. Blue Angels were spectacular. Also there was a Boeing from United Airlines. Someone put Danger Zone on the speakers just as they began the show. I was reminded of how much I wanted to be in the Air Force for a little while as a kid. There were yachts and other boats in the harbor. Other people were also on the rooftops watching the show. Jason and I had walked to Shaylan's place, and we walked back afterward through the curvy stretch of Lombard. SF is really beautiful, just not Fidi/the middle parts. The weather was perfect, and the view as we were on the tops of the hills was spectacular. I honestly wouldn't mind living here if it weren't for the annoying traffic and lack of parking and the skill I'd need to drive normally. Afterward we chilled for a while and talked about our future in bed. Then made a little excursion to Safeway. We walked through Fort Mason. And then I drove back to SJ.
This entire weekend, I felt like all the stress left my body. I was remarkably relaxed, almost like after a massage but without the achiness. I may not be in love with SF, I haven't been around this area much (North Beach/Marina/Cow Hollow), I hate the stupid hills and the way that houses look funny when they're built on a slope, but I love being there because Jason feels like home.
I got home and the anxiety slowly started seeping in. LOL I gotta move out. I am a little annoyed that Jade and Alice aren't really participating much in the housing search, but I kinda get Jade if she's mainly looking for a roomie replacement and I can even understand Alice since she has a Japan trip coming up soon. I don't like that she has such a strict lease start date restriction -- Girlie I know you're on a trip and you're housesitting first couple weeks of November but then don't like. Advertise yourself. Or just be cool with eating 2 weeks of empty rent. You work at Atlassian! FFS. Nah it's chill. I'm looking forward to living with Mature Gorls again. This past year with 5 boys was an Ordeal and I've been asking the most unhinged questions on my roomie search because I'm lowkey traumatized LMFAO.
Oh roomie update -- Phoebe didn't work out because she has a cat and Jade is allergic. I posted an ad on Instagram and Alice (who I previously met at 55 South while going to bars alone) replied. She's pretty cool and chill and has a Samoyed.
